I've lived in Asia to work in Thailand, backpacked two years in a row and am moving back to South East Asia for my first 6 month internship. Here are the guides and articles from the places I loved and the places that tried to rip me off silly. Backpacking in a new place is tough when you don't have friends there already, and often the guide books are old or misleading with prices. In the guides I've tried to provide as up to date info as I could (the advantage of having a blog rather than published book). If you notice any discrepancies, don't get confused.
