Way better than El Trompo.
Or try Salvadorian at Emporio Latino... I mean who doesn't enjoy finding cheap mexican food (that isn't taco bell). I'll def add these into the posting slash try them all. My amour is visiting Toronto in a week, so it gives us a perfect chance to experiment.

Also: if anyone knows of hip, TRENDY and a bit upscale places to eat (somewhere for say..a romantic date), I would love to hear it. (I'm thinking like Mama Shelter in Paris, or the Condom Place in Bangkok if that helps..)Feliciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649470081163992926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4692590391834471433.post-46745697945045164742010-03-25T07:37:52.277+01:002010-03-25T07:37:52.277+01:00Tequila Bookworm is pretty awesome especially in t...Tequila Bookworm is pretty awesome especially in the summer when the patio on the second floor is open. Places in Kensington not mentioned: El Trompo: Small Mexican restaurant on Augusta Avenue. You can get 5 soft tacos for under $10 and a plate of nachos (soo good) for just under $5. And what goes better with Mexican than Corona? Yea, thought so.
Moonbeam Cafe: Just off Kensington Street where all the vintage shops are. It's always full rain or shine, summer or winter. They have awesome vegan delights and shelves of different flavored coffee beans that you can get grounded and packed or served in a french press and enjoy it while taking in the music picks of the day. The backroom is usually filled with busy students or the casual reader because the music only plays in the front room. The back patio is great for reading or occasionally breaking out a board game with your friends.
Don't forget the Blue Banana Market (kind of like 20 different smaller stores in one location) and Supermarket on Augusta Avenue. Supermarket is a hip little restaurant with asian inspired meals and every sunday they have Free Fall Sundays where musicians can sign up for open mic and share their songs. You don't even need to play an instrument or bring one because the house band can back you up if requested or you can even appeal to waiting performers sitting in the audience. Regardless of the music you bring, the crowd is always supportive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
